Toronto is one of the greatest cities to be in the summer. From concerts to food festivals to the CNE, there’s always something to do. But did you know that there are even more events happening outside the city?

If you’re looking for the perfect weekend getaway or even a last-minute day trip, consider hopping in your car and taking a road trip up north to cottage country. On your way, stop at one of the many charming farmer’s markets alongside Highway 400, explore the scenic caves at Blue Mountain, enjoy fun in the sun at Wasaga Beach, or take a tour at a local brewery.

Ontario’s Lake Country will be packed with exciting events this summer. Be sure to make your way to the area to enjoy some ribs at one of the local food festivals or to catch one of the nostalgic concerts happening at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds including the I Love The 90’s Tour and performances by Canadian rock legends Barenaked Ladies. If you’re an avid festival-goer, you won’t want to miss Orillia’s Mariposa Folk Festival, the Boots and Hearts Music Festival, or the Electric Eclectics Festival.

Dare to adventure outside Toronto this summer and experience everything that north of the city has to offer!
