And what better way to impress your partner than to show them how well you know them by planning a unique Circle Farm Tour tailored to their epicurean interests — from savoury cheese to sweet honey.
Circle the date for a Circle Farm Tour
Started in Agassiz more than 14 years ago, a Circle Farm Tour is a road map that directs you to a variety of specialty farm-gate vendors, open-air markets, charming eateries, heritage sites, fairs, and other special events. There’s a brochure and map for each participating community. The tours are self-guided, meaning that you travel in your own car, at your own pace, when it suits you.
Each community brochure/map directs you from 10 to 20 venues. All are related in some way to agriculture and the area’s farming heritage. It is a fantastic and fun opportunity to meet local farmers and see where your food comes from. And it’s great for the farmers too, because they like seeing where their food ends up!
It’s getting hot in here
Once you’re finished your tour and filled your belly, you can head over to the indoor public hot spring, where the water is cooled to a relaxing 100 °F. You read that right — the water has to be cooled from its natural temperature of 149 °F.
In the Village of Harrison, there are great hikes and walks, a splendid lake, and a wide variety of water activities, including boat rentals for every speed.
So, come with the kids — or even better, leave them at home — and catch up on some you time. You can be at Langley in 45 minutes from downtown Vancouver and at the Village of Harrison within an hour and a half. But don’t forget to visit some farms on the way!
