Let your holiday season sparkle with London’s festive events, dazzling lights, and cozy charm, perfect for a memorable getaway.
Are you looking for a new way to get in the festive spirit this year? A magical holiday season is as close as London, Ont. With a bundle of seasonally themed activities and attractions in the city, you might just wish that winter was a little longer this year.
Celebrations in London are the perfect way to get yourself in the holiday spirit.

Holiday magic for everyone
Auburn Group Magic of Lights, powered by Liuna Local 1059, has become a holiday tradition in the area over the last five years. Millions of twinkling lights will again light up the Fanshawe Conservation Area, bringing a little bit of magic to the season. Take a scenic drive through the merry and bright displays and support the Children’s Health Foundation with your ticket purchase.
Frozen the musical has slid from Broadway all the way to the stage at the Grand Theatre for a winter respite. See Elsa and Anna and everyone’s favourite snowman Olaf (sorry, Frosty!) sing their beloved songs during the limited engagement in London.
Fun and joy for all ages
Head downtown to take a stroll along the Downtown for the Holidays experiential trail, get an eyeful of the windows decked out for the Holiday Window Display Contest, and enjoy the sparkling lights. Spending New Year’s Eve is a must in London, and Victoria Park is the place to be, with skating, live music and entertainment, and fireworks at both 9 p.m. and midnight.

At 100 Kellogg Lane, Canada’s largest entertainment complex, they’re amping up the holiday cheer with Merry Ment. Four festive weekends from November 27 to December 21 hold comfort, joy, and family fun for all ages. Visit the Paradigm Spirits’ Après Chalet for gourmet hot chocolates and seasonal cocktails, and Santa’s Enchanted Elevator, which whisks those on the nice list straight to the North Pole. Or take a visit to the world of the Grinch for photo ops and activations in Whoville and slimy fun in the The Grinch’s Slime Lab. Merry Ment is also home to London’s largest holiday market, the Merry Market. It’s setting up shop Thursdays through Sundays until December 21, with vendors selling holiday must-haves and gifts for everyone on your list.
Let visions of sugarplums dance in your head
Instead of fighting traffic on the way home after a long day of celebrating, why not book a stay at one of London’s lovely hotels or cozy B&Bs? Several hotels offer getaway packages so you can save a little money on your trip. You can spend the night and after a relaxing morning (no, it’s not too early to tuck into some Christmas treats from a local bakery!), make your way home at a leisurely pace.
