Canada is a big place. Finding your new Canadian home just got easier.

As a newcomer, deciding where to settle has big implications for you and your family. You want a community that’s welcoming, supportive, and safe — a community that offers unlimited opportunities for housing, investment, employment, education, healthcare, and more.

North Bay, ON, is a short drive from Toronto on uncongested four-lane highways and is an oasis of natural beauty. It’s a true four-seasons location nestled between two amazing lakes, Trout Lake and Lake Nipissing.

“Our city has some of the nicest beaches in Ontario, an amazing system of trails, a downhill ski facility in the middle of town, lots of indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, an OHL hockey team, university and college teams to cheer for, a centre for the performing arts, and so much more,” says Al McDonald, Mayor of North Bay.

Surrounded by clean lakes, iconic Canadian forest, and clear blue sky, North Bay offers a beautiful and accessible outdoor lifestyle with all the comforts of larger urban centres. The average work-to-home commute is 10 minutes, leaving you more time for what really matters.

For me, North Bay has been a city of opportunity. You will do better here, on a personal level, than you will do in a bigger city.

North Bay is open for business and ready to work with you for investment and employment opportunities.

Through the Invest North Bay Development Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, and the municipal Economic Development Department, North Bay can open doors to helping you achieve the prosperity you’re looking for. Their goal is to grow the city through innovation and strategic investment.

The North Bay and District Multicultural Centre provides settlement support services for newcomers, including working collaboratively with employment, education, language training, and professional services. These providers can help newcomers make community connections.

North Bay has been selected as one of only 11 communities to participate in the new federal government Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. The municipality is developing eligibility criteria and processes for candidates to apply to the community for permanent residence.

North Bay has everything you need and everything you’re looking for. Your new home is waiting for you in North Bay and your new neighbours are waiting to welcome you home.
