As we head into summer and start planning vacations, it’s important to remember all of the incredible sights found right here in our own backyard.

From mountains to oceans and everything in between, Canada is one of the most beautiful countries to explore, and with so much to see, how do you make the most of your travels? That’s where RVing comes in! We’ve found that one of the best ways to experience these breathtaking sights is on the road, and we’re not the only ones. According to a study conducted by Ipsos, 61 percent of Canadians find the scenery along the way the most enjoyable part of road trips, with 4 in 10 people noting visiting attractions along the journey as their favourite part.

If admiring the beautiful scenery isn’t what excites you, the RV adventure offers an experience for everyone based on your lifestyle, hobbies, and budget. Between the flexibility to make last-minute pit stops on an off-the-beaten path or taking a few extra days in the places you fall in love with, RVing is a chance to create your dream vacation without breaking the bank. In addition, many people don’t know that when you RV, you generate a smaller carbon footprint than other forms of travel due to the full-service amenities that allow you to combine your transportation and accommodation, offering an added bonus.

Not sure where to start? From deciding on where to go, what to pack, and more importantly, what RV is best for you, Go RVing Canada, the not-for-profit association dedicated to the RV lifestyle, has all the tips and tricks you need, accessible online at GoRVing.ca.

Disconnect to reconnect

Travelling can offer many things, a sense of adventure, moments of relaxation, and the chance to create unforgettable memories with loved ones. However, these days with social media consistently at the tip of our fingers, travelling has started to feel less about those special moments and more about what you can capture online.

Travelling in an RV allows you to disconnect from technology by encouraging you to submerge yourself in the outdoors — a unique component of RV travel — offering an escape from everyday life and a chance to reconnect with yourself and your surroundings and truly “Live Your Wildhood.”

Don’t keep waiting; the road is open for adventure

After two years without international travel, we’ve experienced a newfound love for our own backyard, reminding ourselves that travelling within Canada should be high on our priority travel list. With RVing, there’s no need to wait in those dreaded baggage or security lines that come with flying abroad. Instead, you have complete control of your own trip, allowing you to take off on your adventure as soon as you hop into the driver’s seat.

Whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a two-week vacation this summer, we’re saying forget flying and all the headaches that come with it and embark on an RV adventure of a lifetime right here in our own backyard.
